Today, many of us experience anxiety, stress-related conditions, chronic illness, and many other health challenges. Even when we are not personally ill, we often accompany family members or friends who are going through these situations.

This retreat is centered on the Buddha Medicine practice, offering a profound way to cultivate inner stability and compassion, while also intending to support health and balance for oneself and others.

Throughout this 3-days program, we will listen to selected recorded teachings from Chögyal Namkhai Norbu, in which He explains the meaning, method, and deeper understanding of the Buddha Medicine practice.

Dr. Phuntsog Wangmo will complement these teachings from the perspective of Tibetan Medicine, sharing insights of this traditional knowledge, and she will also be leading the guided sessions and collective practices. Beyond her medical training, Dr. Phuntsog Wangmo is an experienced practitioner who has deepened this method for many years and regularly guides Medicine Buddha practice for many people from all over the world who gather monthly. Having the opportunity to study and practice closely with her during this retreat offers a rare and meaningful occasion to deepen one’s understanding and experience.

About Dr. Phuntsog Wangmo:

Dr. Phuntsog Wangmo received her advanced degree from the prestigious Lhasa University School of Traditional Medicine in 1988. She then dedicated many years to serving as a Tibetan Medicine physician in Eastern Tibet, caring for patients and working closely with local communities.

Her professional path has always been guided not only by medical knowledge but also by a deep commitment to education and service. She is a dedicated teacher, known for her clarity, generosity, and rare vocation to support others. Alongside her educational work, she continues to see numerous patients wherever she is, maintaining an active clinical practice as an essential part of her medical calling.

Her experience also includes collaboration with A.S.I.A., the non-profit organization founded by Professor Namkhai Norbu, where she helped establish hospitals and training centers in remote areas of Sichuan Province and Chamdo Prefecture, expanding access to healthcare and medical education.

In 2007, she co-founded the American Tibetan Medical Association (ATMA), a national organization in the United States representing and advancing the Tibetan medical profession. In 2012, she became the International Director of the Shang Shung School of Tibetan Medicine, overseeing educational programs across the United States, Russia, and Europe.

In addition, Dr. Phuntsog regularly guides meditation practices connected with healing and Tibetan Buddhism, supporting students and practitioners around the world. Her ability to integrate clinical knowledge, contemplative practice, and compassionate presence makes her guidance both grounded and deeply meaningful.
